June 2018 at the South Cariboo Elizabeth Fry Society

For women who have been involved with the criminal justice system in Canada, the Elizabeth Fry Society has been an invaluable resource in reconnecting these women with their families and communities. Since 1982, the South Cariboo branch (SCEFS) has been serving women and their families in Ashcroft, Cache Creek, Clinton, Spences Bridge and Walhachin, and several First Nations Bands. Thank you for keeping up with our activities within our communities!

June was fairly steady month with clients in all program at the SCEFS office.

Executive Director, Yoriko Susanj, was away for a week in June attending the Canadian Association of Elizabeth Fry Societies (CAEFS) AGM and Conference in Sydney, Nova Scotia.

This left the local office in Ashcroft short-handed for the week of June 4th.

The Public Garden is doing well and thriving! We are seeing worms in the garden – which is a first for us since making the garden. Must be a good sign. The watering system is still not fixed so hand watering is encouraged when visiting the garden.

The SCEFS staff want everyone to know that the Grandparents Group and the Coffee Hour group will be running throughout the summer – so if you have time for these drop-in programs to come and visit!
